Race Details

Wheelhouse Motorsports kicked off the World Racing League season at Road America with a weekend that tested the team but also showcased its determination, hard work, and competitive pace. Despite facing setbacks with both cars, the team managed strong performances and a top-10 finish that set a solid foundation for the season ahead.

The No. 91 car encountered its first challenge early Saturday morning when the team discovered a small crack in the oil tank. Prioritizing safety for both the car and its drivers, the crew came together to repair the issue rather than take unnecessary risks. Thanks to the dedication and tireless effort of the technicians, the car was back on track in time for qualifying.

Driver Devin Jones made the most of the opportunity, delivering a great lap that put the No. 91 second on the grid. That pace carried into Sunday's race, where the car ran comfortably in fourth position early on.

Unfortunately, during a pit stop 40 minutes into the race, the car had trouble engaging gears. After a closer look, the team made the difficult decision to retire the car, ending a run that showed real promise and speed.

The No. 92 car put together an encouraging weekend with steady improvement and teamwork across both races. Saturday's race began with the car starting in 17th. Fred Roberts took the opening stint and carefully worked his way through the field, bringing the car up to 11th.

The next stint kept the car in contention, and when Thad Moffitt climbed in for the final portion, he was able to make several strong passes. His effort gained four positions and secured a top-10 finish for the Wheelhouse Endurance Team in Race One.

Sunday followed a similar pattern of steady progress. Starting in 16th, Roberts, Moffitt, and Dan McKeever worked together the move the No. 92 up through the field, with another top-10 finish well within reach. With just 45 minuets remaining, however, three broken wheel studs brought the race to an early end for the team.

"I felt like our group of drivers did a great job making up spots and avoiding penalties and incidents all weekend. The car is a blast to drive..." Thad Moffitt said after his amazing race performance.

While the results didn't tell the full story of the team's speed and determination, the weekend at Road America provided valuable lessons and plenty of encouragement. Wheelhouse Motorsports is already regrouping and preparing both cars for the next round of the WRL season at Daytona.
